Specializing in EMDR & IFS

Serving clients in DC & Maryland

Together, we can create space for growth, healing, and lasting change.

You’re self-aware—and still stuck.

That’s not failure. It’s a sign your nervous system needs a different kind of help.

If you can name your patterns but can’t shift them—overthinking at 2 a.m., people-pleasing when you meant to set a boundary, freezing when it’s time to act—you’re in the right place. My work helps your mind and body settle so change actually sticks.

Who I Help

I work with young professionals and motivated adults navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, attachment wounds, and big life transitions. Together we move from “I understand why I do this” to “I can do something different—in my body, in the moment.”

I value working with people from all walks of life and deeply appreciate the richness that comes from diverse backgrounds and perspectives. I warmly welcome clients from a variety of cultures, the LGBTQ+ community, and those who identify as neurodiverse. I also have experience supporting clients living with OCD.

I strive to create a safe, compassionate, and collaborative space where every person feels seen, understood, and empowered.

How Therapy With Me Feels

There isn’t one “right” way to be here. Some days you’ll arrive clear and ready to dive in; other days you might feel scattered, numb, or unsure where to start. All of you is welcome. I bring a warm, curious, collaborative style. We’ll talk, and we’ll also practice simple body-based strategies so you leave each session with one or two tools you can actually use this week—at your desk, in a tough conversation, or when anxiety spikes.

Clients often notice:

less bracing in the body and a steadier breath

kinder self-talk that fuels effort instead of shame

decisions that feel simpler, not high-stakes

boundaries that honor your values without burning bridges

Who tends to thrive with me

  • Thoughtful strivers who can explain their patterns but can’t shift them alone

  • People balancing work/school pressure with complicated family or relationship dynamics

  • Clients who want trauma-informed care that honors both identity and nervous-system reality

  • Adults carrying attachment wounds who long to feel safer in relationships and more confident in themselves.

  • Clients who value inclusivity and want a therapist who welcomes diverse cultures, LGBTQ+ identities, and neurodiverse ways of being.

  • Those who want more than talk therapy — people drawn to approaches like EMDR and IFS that create change not just in the mind but in the body.

  • Clients who appreciate the option of extended sessions for deeper processing and integration.

What we’ll focus on together

Untangle the pattern.

We’ll map the parts of you that push, protect, perform, or shut down—and what each is guarding.

Create safety for change.

When your nervous system feels steadier, new choices become possible.

Turn insight into action.

We’ll turn awareness into tiny, repeatable shifts that build momentum over time.

Why these methods (IFS + EMDR)

→ Internal Family Systems (IFS)

Instead of treating “perfectionism,” “people-pleasing,” or shutdown as flaws, we meet them as protective parts that helped you get through earlier seasons. When those parts feel respected and understood, they can relax—and your steadier, compassionate core gets to lead.

→ Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)

Overwhelming experiences can remain “stuck,” carrying the same images, sensations, and beliefs they had at the time. EMDR helps your brain finish processing so those memories move into the past—freeing up the present with less reactivity and more choice. We go at the pace of your system—no forcing, no flooding—and check in often to keep the work consent-based.

Why I do this work

Before becoming a therapist, I spent two decades in public service as an intelligence analyst—studying complex systems to serve the greater good. Over time I realized the same skills—curiosity, pattern-spotting, deep listening—belong in the therapy room, one person at a time. I earned my MSW at Catholic University, counseled college students for two years, and pursued post-graduate training in Internal Family Systems (IFS) and EMDR to support durable, body-mind change. I also meet regularly for clinical supervision with Margot Lamson, a trauma-focused psychotherapist with 14 years of clinical experience, to keep our work thoughtful and well-supported.

A teaching from my Jewish tradition guides me:

“There is nothing as whole as a broken heart.”

I carry this as an attitude, not an agenda—compassion and dignity for every part of you, and a genuine welcome for clients of all identities and backgrounds. The places that feel most tender aren’t defects to erase; they’re doorways into wholeness.

What change can look like

  • Feeling more settled in your body—even under pressure

  • Making decisions with less second-guessing and more self-trust

  • Setting and keeping boundaries that are clear and kind

  • Experiencing yourself with more clarity, confidence, and self-compassion—so you can thrive professionally, academically, and personally
